fighting the wintertime cold
i have caught the cold that’s been going around my family so have been doing everything i can to get extra servings of fresh vegetables. thanks to carissa for her inspiration, i’ve been juicing a lot. also on my remedy list: acv tea with lots of cayenne. i’m starting to feel much better.

a sit & listen
last week coldplay’s new album mylo xyloto came out. i’m a shameless coldplay fan and had it pre-ordered… caleb suggested we put away our phones, look away from our laptops, and just listen to the entire album straight through, as we imagine it’s one way the band might have meant it to be heard. it was a nice break in the day and we hope to do it more often.

our blue bottle addiction
one place i was really excited about visiting in san francisco was blue bottle coffee. recommended by carissa, heather, eliza and so many others i knew it was going to be good and it was! caleb has only recently started drinking coffee and he and i both thought their “giant steps” blend was amazing. if you are ever near one or somewhere that sells their coffee - go!

a weekend in the country.

life recently, according to my phone
i’ve been quite busy with working, traveling, attending weddings, planning my own wedding, and a new niece coming into the world (!!) so haven’t had a lot of time to use anything but my phone for photo taking. i’m excited this week to have my dear friends andrew and carissa visiting! it’s such a blessing to have them here. i hope you have a lovely week :)

i got to photograph the lovely and very talented leigh-ann a few weekends ago. not only is she super sweet and fun to hang out with but her family is incredibly hospitable; their southern charm will make you want to sit in their living room and talk for hours.

perfect (almost summer) evening
last night the weather felt just like summer: sticky and hot. so we did the only logical thing - got iced coffees and went for a drive to the country. windows down. paul simon playing.
we ended the evening sitting on the porch, eating ice cream (or or something like it) and reading and talking. it was wonderful.

pouring rain.
today it was bright and sunny and beautiful all day until minutes before we began shooting. i’m glad it rained. i enjoyed getting soaked from the knees down, was grateful to have an umbrella held over my camera, and enjoyed being outside in the fresh open air of my dear pennsylvania countryside.

today is one of my best friend’s birthdays - ian. husband to my dear friend larissa. ian is an incredible friend, fake older brother, and person. that doesn’t feel like enough to say. but i don’t know what else to write…he has so many amazing things about him. he is an example to me of persevering through this hard life without complaining but...

the cosmonaut - a short film
my brother and his company are finishing their short film the cosmonaut. i’ve been privileged to be on set, take production stills/promo photos, and watch almost-finished versions. so far i’ve been blown away. ok so i’m really biased but even so… it’s amazing. they’re raising some money through kickstarter to finish the film. check out the trailer below. give if...

today i went to my favorite coffeehouse with my little brother jonny. we shared a pot of blood orange tea and had fun taking the first photos with a new little camera i just got. a perfect rainy afternoon. (forgive our tired eyes…)

today is my dear, wonderful friend larissa’s birthday. i might as well say sister instead of friend. she is an absolutely amazing, incredible person. i cannot think of what to write without filling a novel that would burst at the seams. i love her so much and cannot imagine living life without her.
